- Not bad, considering I had a Middle School Summit thingy and our Fall Retreat this week!
- I slowed down for a bit last week for some reason (didn’t overeat too bad or anything…) but I seem to be back on track.
- I did eat Hardee’s on Friday… mmmm….
I just got back from a great weekend away at the YS Middle School Ministry Summit. It was just awesome to be in a room of other guys and gals dedicated to loving these specific students to Jesus.
Marko, Kurt and Eric did a great job hosting the event. Some of the discussions had good stuff for us here, but it was the impromptu conversations and connections that were the most useful for me. And nothing was of greater value than the encouragement of feeling like you’re not alone. It was all very cool.

Spring Hill in Michigan is huge and has everything… literally…
I got to drive up with my new bff Jason and hang with him for the weekend.
Also, Marko was my middle school youth pastor when I was but a lad…
I’ll post more on the implications and takeways from my time away later. I’m knee deep in Fall Retreat prep for this weekend!

Latest thoughts…
- Since its going so well now, I’m changing my goals to 2 pounds lost per week until I hit 180. (That means I would now hit 180 in mid-December!)
- How many calories a day was I eating before???
So I learned a few things this first week in my campaign to lose weight and get in shape and am making a few changes to my plan because of them. (I’m not wimping out, I’m actually getting more agressive.)
What I learned or thoughted…
- 2000 calories a day is plenty of food!
- I needed to lsoe 30 pounds, not 26…
- If I want to see what impact being 180 has on my cholestoral, I need to live at that weight for a while
So, I am making a few changes to my plan…
The plan is to lose 2 pounds a week until I break 200, then a pound a week until I break 190. That puts me in the middle of December and I’ll stay under 190, but not push ahead until January. (So I can enjoy the holidays a bit more… but any day the scale tops 190, I’ll be good!)
Then, starting in January, I’ll work on 1 pound a week until I hit 180. which should be middle of March…
